A "Bee" and "B-flat" Saturday

Today was a "Bee" and "B-flat" kind of Saturday but I would give it an A! We began the morning at Merritt's ballet recital where she performed beautifully as a buzzy bee! After lunch at our usual Saturday spot, we headed straight to Morgan's violin recital!

She did a beautiful job performing 5 songs from memory! After the cookies and punch reception, we did some quick shopping and then headed home for naps (at least that was my plan). The girls and their daddy had other plans! The pool opened today and they couldn't miss it! They got in about a 20-minute swim before rain showers came into the area. They were fine with having to come home but I think they are planning on a repeat performance on Sunday!

A "Twinkle" In Our Eye

Morgan participated in her first Suzuki Violin Graduation Awards Recital by successfuly performing the Violin Twinkle Variations. We were all so proud of our Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star!

Keep up the good work Morgan, you are pursuing a wonderful talent! We look forward to many more graduation recitals in your future!

Maestro Morgan

Morgan began her second semester of Suzuki violin. She is really enjoying the group and private lessons. Before Christmas she was invited to play in the holiday concert at her school performing several variations on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star! Over the holidays I have not been the best Suzuki mom and it showed in last week's lesson. I was impressed how much Morgan had retained over our hiatus but this week in our group lesson, I think she felt a slight bit behind of her fellow students! We buckled down and practiced and it definitely paid off yesterday in your private lesson! Morgan you did a beautiful job playing Lightly Row and were thrilled when Mrs. Elaine introduced you to a new song! Keep up the good work and you'll be on to another song in no time!

As a mother, I am always looking for life lessons to teach you and Merritt. Yesterday, I realized you learned one on your own when you turned to me and said, "Wow, the practicing really paid off!"
